What makes The Witcher 3 a masterpiece is in part Geralt’s narrow worldview, one that sometimes forces the player out of their comfort zone in a way you don’t get with the generic Good Option/Bad Option/Neutral Option paradigm. I make no secret of the fact I think well-defined characters are infinitely more interesting than the blank slates used by most RPGs. That consistency is what makes Yakuza so fascinating to me, so far. And it also, by extension, follows the evolution of the city he calls home-Kamurocho, modeled after Tokyo’s Kabukicho district. It primarily follows one protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, from his earliest days as a mobster across three decades of his life and the challenges he faces.
The series as it stands stretches from 1988 (in Yakuza 0) all the way through 2016 ( Yakuza 6).
The app has been created to translate the games from English to Spanish. So yeah, maybe if I’d tried Yakuza back in 2006 I would’ve walked away. Last edited by Kaplas on Fri 4:08 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I'm sorry if this sounds a bit rude, but my time is limited and I prefer to spend it investigating how to translate other games than patching the app to translate to other languages.
If you need to translate them from/to other languages, I can help you explaining the file formats or how the app work, but you'll have to make the necessary code changes. The app has been created to translate the games from English to Spanish. In this case, please notify me to fix it. The app has not been used to translate the games from begin to end, so maybe there are bugs or incomplete texts. I have included zip files with fonts that can be used in Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. (My advise is to keep a copy of the original game files before overwriting them) The new files will be created in the "export" folder inside the work folder, just copy them into the game folder. Select the files to rebuild and wait to complete. par files clicking the "Exportar" button in the toolbar. You have to be careful when editing these files because there are texts that may "broke" the game if you change them.Īfter translating, you can rebuild the. This is because the game stores the data into these files like a database. In Yakuza games there are a variation of the text files that have more translation columns. Also, you can apply patches to use extended ascii symbols (only in Yakuza 0) or change the position of the ¥ symbol in the game texts. Also, they have a "char spacing" table, you can edit it by hand or let the app calculate automatically with the "Auto ajustar" button.
exe files contains texts, so you can translate like other text files. Then just reimport with the "Importar" button. Just click on the "Exportar" button at the bottom and edit it. Image files: You can visualize the game images and replace them. On the bottom side, there are 3 buttons to export and import to/from Excel. Text files: There is a table with the original text and the translated text. On the left part of the window there'll appear all the files to translate or change. The work folder needs to be in a drive with enough space to keep the uncompressed game files. It will show a new window to select the game to translate, a work folder and the game installation folder.
To create a new translation, just click on "Nueva traducción". You can download here and get the source code here
Well, I've coded a new app for translating Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. I tried with un legit version because legit version said:
Hi Kaplas! I tried patch to allow extended ASCII characters success, but it isn't change! Whit this app, you can also export the texts to excel. To generate the translated files, you have to select "Archivo - Exportar Traducción". To translate files, you need to create a New Translation ("Archivo - Nueva Traduccion") and select the files you want to translate (my advise is to create a translation for each game folder). There are hundreds of files with text (almost all of them are inside "auth_w6_e", "bootpar", and "wdr_par_c") This tool can read the text files in the game and shows it in a grid to translate the strings. par file on ParTools.exe, and to repack drop the. par files and you need this tool to unpack and repack them. This is the font used in the game and you need to replace it in the file font.par with the tool #2. exe to allow extended ASCII characters and will add enough space at the end of the file to store the translated text.Īlso, in this folder, there is a file named "hd2_hankaku.dds". To translate Yakuza 0, you need these tools: A lot of people want to translate this game, and you certainly will receive the proper credits. Share your tool here in the topic, not by PM.
